Smecta with vanilla and orange, 3 g/sachet, 18 sachets, Beaufour Ipsen
Smecta is used for:
- symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in children, infants (in combination with oral rehydration) and adults
- symptomatic treatment of chronic diarrhea
- symptomatic treatment of pain associated with esophagitis and colic.
Composition:
3 g dioctahedral diosmectite/sachet, glucose monohydrate 0.74 g/sachet, sodium saccharinate 7 mg/sachet, vanillin 4 mg/sachet (boxes with 10 and 30 sachets).
Method of administration:
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Treatment of acute diarrhea:
- Infants under 1 year of age and children over 1 year of age
- Infants under 1 year of age: the recommended dose is 2 sachets per day, administered for 3 days, then 1 sachet per day.
Children over 1 year of age: the recommended dose is 4 sachets per day, administered for 3 days, then 2 sachets per day.
Adults: The recommended daily dose is 6 sachets per day.
Treatment of other indications:
- Infants under 1 year of age and children over 1 year of age
- Infants under 1 year of age: 1 sachet per day
- Children aged 1 to 2 years: 1 to 2 sachets per day
- Children over 2 years of age: 2 to 3 sachets per day.
Adults: The recommended daily dose is 3 sachets per day.
The contents of one sachet must be dissolved before administration. Smecta is preferably administered:
- after meals, in esophagitis
- between meals, in other conditions.
Infants and children:
- The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in a bottle with 50 ml of water, which should be administered during the day or by mixing with semi-liquid foods: soup, fruit compote, vegetable puree, baby food.
Adults:
- The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in half a glass of water.

Composition:
- The active substance is diosmectite.
- Each sachet contains diosmectite 3 g
- The other ingredients are: glucose monohydrate, sodium saccharin, vanilla flavor, orange flavor.
Contraindications:
Do not use Smecta: if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to diosmectite or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Precautions:
Before using Smecta, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Fertility, pregnancy and lactation:
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
- It is not recommended to use Smecta during pregnancy unless recommended by your doctor.
Driving and using machines:
- There are no known effects on driving and using machines.
