Indications:
Its active substance penetrates deep into the tissue and thins the blood, thus 'freeing' the legs, and the hydroalcoholic gel leaves behind a feeling of coolness and a pleasant fragrance. In addition, due to the effect of improving blood circulation, Lioton gel can be successfully used against bruises or varicose veins.
Helps patients suffering from:
- painful and heavy legs
- swollen feet
- bruises
- varicose veins and predisposition to varicose veins.
It does not leave greasy marks and does not stain clothes.
It is pleasant and easy to administer.
Lioton Gel improves microcirculation and combines several local effects, being:
- anticoagulant
- anti-inflammatory
- anti-edematous
Useful in vein diseases: varicose syndrome, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis, superficial periphlebitis, varicose ulcer, stasis edema; postoperative varicose phlebitis; sequelae of saphenectomy; local treatment of contusions with or without hematoma (e.g. accidental closed injuries or those resulting from sports activities such as ligament strains, bruises, joint swelling); local treatment of superficial phlebitis that cannot be treated by compression.
Composition:
100 g of gel contain heparin sodium 100,000 IU and excipients: carbomer 940, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethanol, orange flower oil, lavender oil, trolamine, purified water.
Method of administration:
Apply between 3 and 10 cm of gel 3 times a day to the affected area, massaging gently.
Precautions and contraindications:
- if you have an increased tendency to bleed. In this case, treatment with Lioton Gel should be carefully monitored by your doctor;
- if you experience signs and symptoms of allergy (hypersensitivity) to Lioton Gel. In this case, discontinue treatment with Lioton Gel immediately;
- if you have open, bleeding or infected wounds on the surfaces requiring treatment: Lioton Gel should not be used on these areas (see also “Do not use Lioton Gel”)
Children and adolescents:
Lioton Gel is not recommended for use in children and adolescents because safety and efficacy have not been established in this age group.
Lioton Gel with other medicines
Take special care if you are taking anticoagulants (such as medicines to prevent blood clots). In these cases, the use of heparin may increase prothrombin time.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
There is no data available regarding the use of Lioton Gel during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines:
- There are no data available regarding the use of Lioton Gel while driving or using machines.
- Lioton Gel contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and parahydroxybenzoate.
- Methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (even delayed).
