Description
Smecta is an antidiarrheal medicine intended for adults and children over 2 years of age. The active substance is diosmectite (aluminosilicate). Due to its structure and high viscosity, Smecta has strong coating properties of the gastrointestinal mucosa, strengthening the barrier protecting it against irritants and pathogens.
Smecta is used for the treatment of acute diarrhea in combination with rehydration solution in children and acute diarrhea in adults and for the symptomatic treatment of chronic functional diarrhea in adults.
