Chlorquinaldol tablets 100 mg.

Pharmacotherapeutic action:

Antiseptic from the haloquine group, active especially against gram-positive germs (staphylococci, streptococci), Trichomonas, Giardia and fungi; does not unbalance the intestinal microbial symbiosis.

Indications:

Intestinal dysbacteriosis, enterocolitis, summer diarrhea, amoebic dysentery (mild forms), candidiasis and giardiasis; infected wounds, minor local microbial infections, skin mycoses.

Composition:

• One dragee contains 100 mg chlorquinaldol
• Excipients with known effect: lactose monohydrate, sugar.

Method of administration:

• Adults: 1-2 dragees (100-200 mg) 3 times/day
• Children: 10 mg/kg body weight per day.

Adverse reactions:

Rarely nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, allergic skin rashes; very rarely peripheral neuritis, optic neuritis, myelopathy (high doses, prolonged treatment).

Contraindications:

• Allergy to haloquines, severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, severe heart failure, pregnancy in the first trimester
• Beware of overdose; in acute cases, systemic treatment is administered for a maximum of one week, in chronic cases, for a maximum of one month.
• In case of association with other haloquine preparations (mexaform, mexase, intestopan), the total dose will not exceed 750 mg/day in adults and 400 mg/day in school children; these preparations are not administered in successive courses if the total duration of treatment exceeds one month.
