The disinfection solution is used for:

• Skin disinfection before injection, blood collection, tissue collection, transfusion or infusion, preoperative skin and mucous membrane disinfection
• Wound treatment
• Treatment of bacterial or fungal infections
• Total or partial preoperative disinfection of the patient (disinfection bath)

Dosage and dosage schemes: The solution is used either concentrated or as a diluted 10% (1:10) or 1% (1:100) solution, depending on the application site.

A 10% aqueous solution (diluted 1:10 with water) is used to clean and treat burns, to disinfect mucous membranes and in case of bacterial or fungal infections.

How to use: The solution is for local use only. The solution should always be diluted immediately before use. It is recommended to leave it on the desired place for at least 15-30 seconds. The diluted solution should be used immediately, not stored. During preoperative preparation, the accumulation of the solution under the patient and the formation of a puddle should be avoided, as burns may occur. Prolonged exposure to the solution (through a wet bandage) may cause irritation or, rarely, severe skin reactions. Stains from the solution can be removed from textiles using lukewarm water and, in case of extensive stains, using sodium thiosulphate solution.

Notice:

• During pregnancy and breastfeeding women, the solution should not be used. The solution can be used in pregnant and lactating women only after consulting the doctor, only if strictly indicated and in absolutely minimal amounts
• Use in premature infants, newborns and infants is not recommended. If it is necessary to use the mentioned drug, it can be carried out after an individual analysis and under constant medical supervision. In the rest of the pediatric population, the use of povidone-iodine should be minimized
• The use of the drug is contraindicated in hyperthyroidism or other acute diseases of the thyroid gland. In patients with goiter, nodules in the thyroid gland or other non-acute diseases of the thyroid gland, the solution should not be used for a longer period and on larger areas of the skin
• The solution should not be used before radioactive iodine treatment or examination
• The solution should not be used together with alkaline salts, hydrogen peroxide, taurolidine, tannin, silver and mercury salts
