Stadalax, 25 gastro-resistant tablets, Stada

Indications:
Stadalax is useful for the short-term treatment of constipation and disorders that require facilitation of colon evacuation.
Stadalax has a laxative effect through 3 mechanisms of action:
- stimulates intestinal peristalsis and the natural process of defecation
- limits water absorption in the intestine, without affecting the absorption of essential nutrients in the small intestine
- increases the secretion of water and electrolytes into the colon lumen

Composition:
- The active substance is bisacodyl. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 5 mg bisacodyl.
- The other ingredients are: core-lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, potato starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, talc, long-chain partial glycerides, coating-cellulose acetophthalate, liquid glucose, corn starch, dextrin, montan glycol wax, castor oil, sucrose, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171).

Use in children:
Children under 10 years of age with chronic constipation should only be treated under the supervision of a doctor.
Bisacodyl should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
Short-term treatment of constipation
Adults and children over 10 years of age:
1-2 gastro-resistant tablets (5-10 mg) per day, before bedtime, for an immediate effect.
Children aged 2 to 10 years:
1 gastro-resistant tablet (5 mg) per day, before bedtime, for an immediate effect.

Contraindications:
Do not use Stadalax
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to bisacodyl or any of the other ingredients of Stadalax.
- in children under 2 years of age.

Precautions:
Take special care when using Stadalax
In cases of constipation, laxatives should only be used for a short period of time (usually no more than 5 days).
For chronic constipation, you should talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Stadalax should be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on doctor's advice.

Driving and using machines:
No studies have been performed on the effects of Stadalax on the ability to drive or use machines.
