Antioxidant effect. Vitamin C alone is already a powerful antioxidant, but without bioflavonoids it loses some of its synergistic action, and if and supplemented by bioflavonoids, it better maintains its capacity. Some bioflavonoids help protect vitamin C from oxidation, prolonging its effectiveness.
