Indications:
Orofar Intensiv contains flurbiprofen. Flurbiprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that work by changing the way the body responds to pain, inflammation and high fever.
Orofar Intensiv is used for the short-term relief of symptoms of throat conditions such as pain, irritation and swelling and difficulty swallowing in adults aged 18 years and over.
If after 3 days you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you should see a doctor.
Contraindications:
Do not use Orofar Intensiv if:
- you are allergic (hypersensitive) to flurbiprofen or any of the other components of this medicine.
Precautions:
Before using Orofar Intensiv, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
Task:
Oral forms (eg, tablets) of flurbiprofen may cause adverse effects in the fetus. It is not known whether the same risk is associated with Orofar Intensiv.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Do not use Orofar Intensiv during the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy, you should not use Orofar Intensiv unless clearly necessary and recommended by your doctor. If you need treatment during this period, the lowest dose should be used for the shortest possible time.
Breastfeeding:
This medicine is not recommended if you are breast-feeding.
Fertility:
Flurbiprofen is part of a group of drugs that can affect women's fertility. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of the drug. Occasional use of this medicine is unlikely to affect your chances of getting pregnant; however, tell your doctor before using this medicine if you have difficulty getting pregnant.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
This medicine should not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
However, dizziness and visual disturbances are possible side effects after taking NSAIDs. If you experience these disorders, do not drive or use machines.
Orofar Intensiv contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per dose, i.e. practically "sodium-free".
This medicine contains 0.14 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in each dose. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine is equivalent to less than 0.0035 ml of beer or 0.0014 ml of wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have noticeable effects. Orofar Intensiv contains flavors with d-limonenes, citral and eugenol, which can cause allergic reactions.
Mode of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Recommended dose:
Adults aged 18 and over:
One dose of 3 sprays, administered to the back of the neck, 3-6 hours apart as needed, up to a maximum of 5 sprays (15 sprays) in a 24 hour period.
One dose (3 sprays) contains flurbiprofen 8.75 mg.
Use in children and adolescents:
Do not use this medicine in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
For oropharyngeal administration only.
- Spray only on the back of the neck.
- Do not inhale while spraying.
- Do not administer more than 5 doses (15 sprays) in 24 hours.
Orofar Intensiv is for short-term use only.
You should use the lowest possible dose, for the shortest period of time, for as long as necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, contact a doctor or pharmacist without delay if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen (see section 2).
If mouth irritation occurs, treatment with flurbiprofen should be discontinued.
Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days, unless your doctor tells you to.
If you do not feel better, if you feel worse or if new symptoms appear, contact a doctor or pharmacist.

Composition:
- The active substance is flurbiprofen. One dose (3 sprays) contains flurbiprofen 8.75 mg. One spray contains flurbiprofen 2.92 mg. One milliliter of oropharyngeal spray, solution contains flurbiprofen 16.2 mg.
- The other components are: Betadex (E459), hydroxypropylbetadex, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, citric acid (E330), sodium hydroxide, sodium saccharin (E954), purified water, cherry flavor (containing natural flavoring substances: d-limonene, citral, eugenol, ethyl alcohol, glyceryl triacetate (E1518), water, propylene
glycol (E1520), ascorbic acid (E300), alpha-tocopherol (E307), citric acid (E330)), mint flavor (containing natural flavoring substances: d-limonene, propylene glycol (E1520); glyceryl triacetate (E1518) , alpha-tocopherol (E307), ethyl alcohol, pulegone, menthofuran).
