Sandalwood oil is a precious essence that releases a sensual oriental perfume with spicy and woody notes. Reputed perfume, also useful in cosmetic care preparations, being antiseptic, decongestant and skin regenerator.
Extracted by distillation from the wood of the Santal tree, the essential oil is all the more precious as the species that grows in India is on the verge of extinction and harvests will probably be limited in time. There are other species in Hawaii or Australia, but their essence differs and does not present the finesse of Indian sandalwood.
Sandalwood oil has been used since ancient times in rituals and religious ceremonies, appreciated in meditations and for favoring the Zen state. In traditional medicine, it was used for its antiseptic, cicatrizing, sedative and hypotensive properties.
An essential oil used in perfumery in particular, but also in cosmetics and aromatherapy alike; its sensual oriental aroma relieves anxiety and insomnia, favors body and soul harmony.
It is antiseptic and respiratory, balancing in the form of aromatherapy, skin regenerator and lymphatic decongestant in compositions applied to the body in the form of ointments, lotions, balms and body oils.

Method of obtaining:
By steam distillation from the woody parts.

Characteristics:
Clear yellowish liquid, low viscosity.

Woody, oriental, slightly spicy persistent.
