Aflamil 15 mg/g cream, 60 g, Gedeon Richter

Aflamil can be used in the treatment of all types of painful and inflammatory conditions, including acute or chronic inflammatory injuries and diseases of muscles and bones, such as sprains, strains or bruises, back pain, stiff neck, as well as inflammation of the tissues around the joints (periarthritis), e.g. tendonitis, tennis elbow.

The medicine contains the active substance aceclofenac, which has analgesic (pain-relieving), anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic effects.

• Aceclofenac in the form of a cream is used for the local treatment of inflammatory and painful conditions.

Indications:

It can be used in the treatment of all types of painful and inflammatory conditions, including acute or chronic inflammatory injuries and diseases of the muscles and bones, such as

• sprain
• strain (tear of muscle fibers)
• lower back pain
• stiff neck
• for inflammation of the tissues around the joints (periarthritis), e.g. tendonitis, tennis elbow.

Composition:

• The active substance is aceclofenac
• One gram of cream contains 15 mg of aceclofenac
• The other ingredients are: emulsifying wax (cetostearyl alcohol, polysorbate), liquid paraffin, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 216), purified water.

How to use:

• Adults: 1.5-2 g of cream (this is approximately 5-7 cm, the dose used depends on the size of the affected area) is applied 3 times a day
• If the patient does not feel better within 7 days or if the symptoms worsen, the patient should consult a doctor
• The cream is applied by gently massaging into the affected area
• It is intended for external use only on intact skin
• It should not be applied to the eyes or other mucous membranes or on open skin lesions
• It should not be used on irritated (eczematous) skin
• Hands should be washed after application, unless the treated area is on the hands
• The cream should not be used with occlusive bandages.

Warnings:

• The drug is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation
• The drug is contraindicated in children and adolescents
• The drug should not be used in case of chickenpox, as serious complications may occur
• Photosensitivity may occur less frequently during treatment (≥1/1000 to <1/100)
• The patient should avoid exposing the treated area to strong sunlight to prevent photosensitivity reactions
• The drug contains cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, methylparaben and propylparaben, which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis, possibly delayed)
• The shelf life after first opening is 30 days
• Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
