Enteromicro
Description Enteromicro
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.nl team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Enteromicro is a complex probiotic preparation for dogs and cats, formulated to restore the balance of the intestinal microbiota and support digestive function in the context of various gastrointestinal disorders. Based on a synergistic combination of carefully selected probiotic strains, combined with prebiotics such as fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and mannanoligosaccharides (MOS), the product helps restore the intestinal ecosystem, which is frequently affected by factors such as prolonged drug therapy, stress, dietary changes or digestive infections.
Dosage forms
Enteromicro is available in two pharmaceutical forms suitable for administration to pets:
- Enteromicro tablets (32 tablets) – easy to administer, suitable for daily use;
- Enteromicro oral paste (15 ml graduated syringe) – palatable form, particularly recommended in acute cases or for animals with a reduced appetite.
This variety of forms allows the treatment to be tailored to the animal’s preferences and clinical condition.
Indications for use
Enteromicro for dogs and cats is indicated in all conditions associated with imbalances in the intestinal flora (dysbiosis), including:
- acute or chronic diarrhoea;
- gastroenteritis of various aetiologies;
- long-term drug treatments (particularly antibiotics);
- intestinal parasitic infections;
- changes in diet or unbalanced diets;
- immunosuppression;
- periods of stress (travel, competitions, exhibitions);
- a tendency towards constipation.
By restoring the microbiota, the product helps to alleviate digestive symptoms and prevent recurrence.
Dosage regimen
Enteromicro is administered orally, either directly or mixed with food. The duration of treatment may be adjusted according to the severity of symptoms and the veterinary surgeon’s recommendation, particularly in chronic or recurrent conditions.
For Enteromicro Complex tablets:
- dogs: 1 tablet/10 kg body weight/day;
- cats: ½ tablet per 5 kg body weight per day.
For Enteromicro Complex paste: 1 scoop/5 kg body weight/day.
Contraindications
No specific contraindications have been reported for the use of Enteromicro Complex. Due to its high safety profile, the product can be administered to a wide range of animals, including those with digestive sensitivity.
However, caution is advised in the case of animals with severe conditions or those that are immunocompromised, where any intervention on the microbiota must be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Usage details
Enteromicro Complex features a complex formula, which includes:
- Probiotics (5 billion CFU): Lactobacillus acidophilus, Enterococcus faecium, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus;
- Prebiotics (FOS and MOS): support the growth of beneficial bacteria;
- Brewer’s yeast and colostrum: help support immunity;
- Citrus pectin: has a protective effect on the intestinal mucosa.
This combination plays an important role in restoring the intestinal barrier, reducing inflammation and modulating the immune response.
Side effects
To date, no adverse reactions associated with the administration of Enteromicro have been reported. Due to its physiological nature and well-tolerated ingredients, the product has an excellent safety profile.
In rare cases, transient changes in bowel movements (mild bloating or changes in stool consistency) may occur, particularly at the start of treatment.
Interactions with other medicines and food
Enteromicro Complex can be taken alongside most drug treatments, including antibiotics, and is even recommended for preventing the dysbiosis associated with them.
For optimal effectiveness, it is recommended to take probiotics 2–3 hours apart from antibiotics to avoid inactivation of the beneficial bacteria.
There are no known adverse interactions with food, and the product can be easily incorporated into the daily diet.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported. Given the nature of the ingredients, the risk is low, but taking excessive doses may cause mild, temporary digestive disturbances.
Adherence to the recommended doses remains essential for achieving optimal benefits.
Storage conditions
The product should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and excessive moisture. Once opened, in the case of the paste form, it is recommended to use as directed to maintain the stability of the probiotics.
