Vagostabyl, 40 tablets, Dr. Reddys

Vagostabyl is a combination of plant extracts (hawthorn and lemon balm with a sedative effect), magnesium and calcium salts (which reduce neuromuscular hyperexcitability).

Indications:

Vagostabyl is used in adults and adolescents for:

• treatment of cardiac hyperexcitability (for example in case of exaggerated perception of heartbeat - palpitations), in the absence of any diagnosed heart disease
• symptomatic treatment of states of mental agitation in adults and adolescents, especially in cases of mild sleep disorders.

Composition:

• The active substances are: dry hydroalcoholic extract of hawthorn leaf and flower (Crataegi folium cum flore), dry hydroalcoholic extract of lemon balm leaf (Melissae folium), calcium lactate pentahydrate, magnesium thiosulfate. Each dragee contains dry hydroalcoholic extract of hawthorn leaf and flower 50 mg, dry hydroalcoholic extract of lemon balm leaf 45 mg, calcium lactate pentahydrate 50 mg, magnesium thiosulfate 10 mg
• The other ingredients are: core: colloidal anhydrous silica, povidone K 30, anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate; maltodextrin; coating: sepifilm SN*** (talc, sugar, gelatin, Acacia gum, orange yellow S (E 110), Opagloss 6000****.

Method of administration:

• Adults: The recommended dose in case of cardiac hyperexcitability is 2 Vagostabyl tablets 1-3 times a day, before meals. For the treatment of mild sleep disorders, the recommended dose is 2 Vagostabyl tablets with the evening meal and 2 tablets before bedtime.
• Adolescents: For the treatment of mild sleep disorders, the recommended dose is 1 Vagostabyl tablet with the evening meal and 1 tablet before bedtime.
• Vagostabyl dragees are not recommended for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding or in children under 12 years of age.

Contraindications:

Do not use Vagostabyl if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to hawthorn, lemon balm, calcium lactate pentahydrate, magnesium thiosulfate or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Precautions:

• Take special care when using Vagostabyl
• Before taking Vagostabyl, seek the advice of your doctor, who will rule out the presence of serious conditions as the cause of your symptoms and will conduct a clinical reassessment after a maximum of 6 months.
• It is recommended to monitor the number of heartbeats per minute and blood pressure and depending on their value, the dose of Vagostabyl and the other medications used should be adjusted by the doctor.

Contact your doctor at the same time:

• if symptoms of the disease persist for more than 2 weeks or if swelling of the lower limbs occurs
• If pain occurs in the chest area, radiating to the arms, upper abdomen or neck area, or shortness of breath occurs, immediate medical consultation is necessary.

There are insufficient data on the use in children. Therefore, Vagostabyl should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
• In the absence of sufficient data, the use of Vagostabyl during pregnancy (especially in the first trimester) and breastfeeding is not recommended.

Driving and using machines:

• Due to its weak sedative effect, Vagostabyl has a moderate influence on the ability to drive or use machines – therefore, these actions require increased caution when taking Vagostabyl.
