ACTION AND MECHANISM

A non-steroidal analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug with an indazole structure. It acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through a reversible blockade of prostaglandin-cyclooxygenase.

PATIENT ADVICE: - This medication is for external use only (in the form of vaginal washes or irrigations). Oral administration may cause serious toxic effects.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Women with a history of hypersensitivity to benzydamine.

INDICATIONS

- [VAGINITIS]: Local and temporary relief of itching and burning of the external vaginal area in adults.

GUIDELINES FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION

For vaginal use only. * Rosalgin: Prepare the solution by dissolving the contents of 2 sachets in 1 liter of water, preferably warm. * Rosalgin Pronto: Pull the cannula out until you feel it hit the top. Only complete removal of the cannula will allow the liquid to flow. Gently insert the cannula into the vagina and squeeze the bottle until empty. The liquid should be kept in the vagina for a few minutes.

POSOLOGY

- Vaginitis (topical vaginal): 1 or 2 vaginal irrigations or external washes per day.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

The most characteristic adverse reactions are: - Rarely (<1%): slight sensation of [VAGINAL ITCHING] during the first days of treatment.

OVERDOSE

- Symptoms: Oral ingestion of high doses of benzydamine (500 mg or more) has caused CNS disturbances, such as excitation, muscle weakness, drowsiness, delirium, with acute confusion and visual and tactile hallucinations. - Treatment: There is no specific antidote; gastric lavage and symptomatic treatment should be performed.
