Description

Xylometazoline + Dexpanthenol WZF nasal spray contains two active ingredients: xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. It reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa, promotes wound healing, and protects the nasal mucosa. It is recommended for children over 6 years of age, adolescents, and adults.

Composition

The active substances of the drug are: xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol.

Each ml of solution contains 1.0 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride ( Xylometazolini hydrochloridum ) and 50.0 mg of dexpanthenol ( Dexpanthenolum ).
Each dose of nasal spray (0.1 ml of solution) contains 0.1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride and 5.0 mg of dexpanthenol.

Excipients: Disodium phosphate dodecahydrate; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate; Benzalkonium chloride solution; Purified water.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Children over 6 years of age and adults: one spray into each nostril, as needed, up to three times a day.

Xylometazoline + Dexpanthenol WZF should not be used for longer than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. A break of several days should be observed before resuming treatment.

Before application, blow your nose thoroughly and take the last dose before bedtime.

Action

Xylometazoline constricts blood vessels, which reduces swelling in the nasal mucosa. The active ingredient dexpanthenol promotes wound healing and protects the mucous membranes.

Indications

Xylometazolin + Dexpanthenol WZF is used in the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion in the course of colds and after nasal surgery - to stimulate the healing of the mucous membrane and improve nasal patency.

Contraindications

The drug should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the ingredients of the preparation, in case of dry rhinitis and after surgical procedures involving exposure of the dura mater.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 patients in 1,000): hypersensitivity reactions.

Rare (affects 1 to 10 patients in 10,000): palpitations, tachycardia, increased blood pressure.

Very rare (occurring in less than 1 patient in 10,000): agitation, insomnia, hallucinations, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, convulsions, arrhythmia, nosebleed, increased swelling of the mucous membranes after discontinuation of the drug.

Frequency unknown (frequency cannot be estimated based on the available data): burning sensation and dryness of the nasal mucosa, sneezing.

Warnings and precautions

Caution should be exercised if the patient suffers from narrow-angle glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure, high blood pressure, severe heart disease, pheochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, porphyria and prostatic hypertrophy.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Shelf life after first opening the package: 6 months.

Use of other medications

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Caution should be exercised if the patient is taking: certain medications for depression, medications that raise or lower blood pressure.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

Not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age.
