Cold therapy is indicated for minor contusions and acute injuries (strained and torn muscles, sprains), sunburn, headache or toothache, minor bleeding and non-extensive skin inflammation. Cold compresses are also recommended to soothe insect bites. Cold compresses slow blood flow to the affected area, resulting in reduced swelling and pain relief.
Hot application is useful in post-traumatic conditions and chronic injuries, as well as in lumbar pain, sciatica, muscle pain caused by contracture or spasm, joint stiffness and rheumatic muscle pain. Warm compresses increase blood flow by dilating blood vessels, further speeding up metabolism.
Depending on the type of therapy used, the ThermoGel compress can be placed in the refrigerator/freezer or in hot water. After applying to the selected area, the non-freezing gel pad releases its temperature, which relieves the pain. Importantly, the gel formula does not freeze, which ensures greater comfort even immediately after taking it out of the freezer and allows it to be properly adjusted to the shape of the body. The special protective cover for the gel compress included in the package ensures that heat or cold does not irritate users with delicate or sensitive skin.
