Properties:
Beta-carotene slows down the process of premature aging of cells, thinning of the cornea, its opacification and perforation, maintains the health of the skin and mucous membranes, increases the hardness of bones and teeth. It is also useful in certain physiological conditions such as pregnancy in which the daily requirement of vitamin A is increased, or in those in which the absorption and utilization of vitamin A is reduced, such as in diabetes and hypothyroidism. It also protects the skin exposed to sunlight and maintains the tan for a long time.
