Iodine skin solution 10%, 60 ml, Tis Farmaceutic
Description
Iodine cutaneous solution 10%, 60 ml, Tis Farmaceutic
Indications:
Preoperative disinfection of skin and mucous membranes.
Asepsis of superficial wounds, including skin burns.
Adjuvant in bacterial and fungal infections of the skin and mucous membranes or susceptible to superinfections.
Iodine does not sterilize the skin, it only temporarily reduces the number of microorganisms.
Composition:
1 ml of cutaneous solution contains 100 mg povidone iodine (corresponding to 10 mg active iodine) and excipients: glycerol, macrogol 400, citric acid monohydrate, disodium phosphate, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Method of administration:
Always use Bepansept exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The cream is applied in a thin layer, one or more times a day, by gentle massage, to cleaned wounds or inflamed skin areas.
Application to large areas should be avoided.
Treatment of nipple cracks in nursing mothers: the cream is applied to the nipples after each breastfeeding and local toilet.
Contraindications:
- hypersensitivity to povidone or any of the excipients;
- history of iodine intolerance;
- newborns;
- prolonged use in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy and during breastfeeding;
- thyroid diseases (hyperthyroidism, thyroid adenoma).
Precautions:
Due to the cutaneous absorption of iodine, repeated and prolonged administration should be avoided, which may cause systemic effects; the occurrence of systemic effects is favored by: using the solution on large surfaces, under occlusive dressings, on damaged skin (especially with burns), on mucous membranes or skin in premature or newborn infants (depending on the surface area/body weight ratio and the occlusive effect of the diaper).
Special precautions are required in case of repeated application to skin lesions in patients with renal insufficiency, especially in those with extensive burns.
If use in children under 30 months is absolutely necessary, then the solution should be applied to small areas and then washed with sterile water.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
Since absorbed iodine can cross the feto-placental barrier, it is recommended to avoid the use of Iodine in the first trimester of pregnancy and prolonged use in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is contraindicated. Prolonged administration of the drug or use near delivery produces significant iodine absorption, with fetal toxicity: hypothyroidism or neonatal goiter.
Iodine administration is contraindicated during breastfeeding, because absorbed iodine is excreted in breast milk.
Driving and using machines:
Iodine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
