ACTION AND MECHANISM

Association that includes a low molecular weight heparinoid, pentosan polysulfate sodium, an anti-inflammatory steroid, triamcinolone acetonide, and a local anesthetic, lidocaine. Pentosan polysulfate sodium is a semi-synthetic heparinoid of plant origin that acts primarily as a vascular anti-inflammatory and venotropic agent. Its low molecular weight facilitates its absorption through the skin. Like other heparinoids, it has anticoagulant activity, although much weaker than that of heparin. This activity is practically irrelevant when the substance is administered cutaneously. On the contrary, thrombolytic activity has been confirmed by this route, preventing the formation of thrombi and promoting the regression of small ones already formed. Triamcinolone acetonide is a fluorinated corticosteroid with recognized cutaneous effects.

PATIENT ADVICE

PATIENT ADVICE: - If irritation occurs at the application site, discontinue use of the ointment and, if necessary, initiate appropriate treatment. - Care should be taken to ensure that the rectal ointment does not come into contact with the eyes. - It is advisable to wash hands thoroughly after application. - Application over large areas, use for prolonged periods, or with occlusive dressings or diapers, may lead to systemic effects (hypertension, diabetes, Cushing's syndrome) due to the greater amount absorbed. - If an associated infection is present, specific complementary treatment should be incorporated. If there is no rapid improvement, treatment should be discontinued until the infection is controlled. - Caution is recommended when using this medicine in the elderly, patients in the acute phase, or debilitated patients, as they may be more sensitive to the systemic effects of the active ingredients in this medicine. - Treatment is not recommended in children.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Hemorrhoidal bleeding.- Bacterial, viral or fungal infections of the area to be treated.

PREGNANCY

Safety during pregnancy has not been established. Therefore, its use should be reserved for cases where the potential benefit justifies possible risks to the fetus or newborn. In any case, it should not be used in large quantities or for long periods of time by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

INDICATIONS

LACTATION

Safety during breastfeeding has not been established. It should not be used in large quantities or for long periods of time in breastfeeding women.

RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

It is recommended to apply after bowel movements and personal hygiene. Before applying, the affected area should be carefully cleaned with soap and warm water. Apply a small amount of rectal ointment to the anal region with a finger, using the fingertip to overcome sphincter resistance. If the ointment is to be applied inside the rectum, screw the enclosed applicator onto the tube and insert the tip into the anus. A small amount of ointment can then be applied by applying light pressure to the tube.

POSOLOGY

- Topical. Apply 1-2 cm of ointment to the area to be treated 1 to 3 times a day.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

At the recommended doses, cutaneous application is rarely associated with the appearance of systemic adverse effects. In isolated cases, adverse reactions of a local nature have been attributed mainly to hypersensitivity to the preparation, especially when used on large areas of skin or in prolonged treatments. [SKIN IRRITATION], [PRURITUS], [IRRITATION], [CONTACT DERMATITIS], dryness, dermal maceration may occur.
