Lemongrass, also known as lemon grass, citronella or Indian verbina, is a perennial plant that grows and multiplies quickly, forming a real network of roots in the soil. It is native to India where it still grows wild. The plant is used in various areas as a spice, a medicinal plant, but also for its perfuming and insect-repellent properties.

Method of obtaining:
By steam distillation of the aerial parts.

Characteristics:
Clear slightly yellowish liquid, low viscosity.

Olfactory description:
Fresh, citrus, herbaceous smell.

Properties:

- as an ingredient in the preparation of creams, balms, body milk, ointments, gels;
- diluted with a vegetable oil for massages;
- added to soaps for perfuming;
- as an ingredient in shampoos, conditioners or hair creams for hair shine;
- as an ingredient in deodorant sprays and lotions in case of excessive sweating;
- as an ingredient in liquid or solid deodorants;
