Description
Axotonil is an ear spray medicine for adults. The active substance of the drug is choline salicylate (a derivative of salicylic acid), belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
How does Axotonil work?
The drug reduces pain and inflammation caused by inflammation of the external auditory canal (so-called otitis). Choline salicylate used topically has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has a weak bactericidal effect against some microorganisms. The glycerol contained in the medicine hydrates the external ear canal and dissolves and softens residual wax, making it easier to remove. Axotonil does not contain preservatives. After local administration in the ear, it has no systemic effect.
