Advil Ibuprofen, 200 mg, 10 tablets, Gsk
Indications:
Advil acts quickly and effectively in case of headache, migraine (treatment and prophylaxis), toothache, dysmenorrhea, osteoarticular and muscle pain (including tendinitis, bursitis, dislocations, sprains), fever.
Composition:
- ibuprofen 200 mg
- excipients: core - colloidal silicon dioxide, pregelatinized starch, corn starch, corn starch (grade 826), croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearic acid; icing layer - sugar, microcrystalline cellulose, Opalux Brown AS-9030A, Opaglos Regular CS-2-031O, Opacode Black, Carnauba wax.
Contraindications:
Advil should not be used in case of:
- hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the product's components
- current or past peptic ulcer
- gastrointestinal bleeding
- ulcerative colitis, serious liver and/or kidney disorders
- allergic reactions such as bronchial asthma, urticaria, rhinitis, nasal polyps and angioneurotic edema to this group of drugs
- systemic lupus erythematosus or other collagenoses.
Side effects:
During treatment with Advil, the following unwanted effects may occur:
- the most common unwanted effects are gastrointestinal disorders: heartburn, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, active ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding
- less frequent: headache, confusion, tinnitus and drowsiness
- reversible eye reactions
- skin rashes such as urticaria, exanthema and purpura
- rarely, generalized hypersensitivity reactions, the risk of which may be increased by systemic lupus erythematosus or other collagen diseases
- rarely, bronchospasm in predisposed patients
- decrease in the number of red and white blood cells, especially after long-term administration of large doses
- abnormal values of liver tests (increased values of serum transaminases) and jaundice
- edema, especially after prolonged administration of large doses
- other unwanted effects: occasional stomatitis, menstrual disorders, increase in serum urate values
In the event of the appearance of adverse effects, it is necessary to immediately stop the administration and institute the appropriate treatment.
Administration method:
Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 dragees (200 - 400 mg ibuprofen), repeated as needed at intervals of 6-8 hours, without exceeding 1200 mg ibuprofen (6 dragees).
- Dragees are swallowed whole, with a little water, preferably at meals.
In children under 12 years old, it is recommended to use the appropriate pharmaceutical forms of ibuprofen.
- In this age group, the drug is released only on the basis of medical prescription. If the signs of the disease persist for more than 3 days, contact the doctor.
Precautions:
Use Advil only on the recommendation and under the supervision of the doctor, in case of:
- active diseases of the gastrointestinal tract at present or in the past
- history of bronchospasm, especially if it was the result of medication administration
- kidney and/or liver or heart diseases
- history of heart failure or hypertension
- intrinsic coagulation deficits and anticoagulant therapy
If you experience visual disturbances during treatment with Advil, you must stop taking it and see your doctor.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: In the first 5 months of pregnancy, ibuprofen will be administered only if absolutely necessary and only under strict medical supervision. Starting with the 6th month, the administration of ibuprofen is contraindicated.
The use of Advil during breastfeeding is not indicated. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, medicines are used only on the doctor's recommendation.
