OJOSBEL EYE DROPS 1 BOTTLE SOLUTION 8 ML
Description
SENIORS
The safety and efficacy of ophthalmic naphazoline in the elderly have not been specifically established; however, older adults may be more sensitive to the adverse effects of sympathomimetics. It should be noted that these patients are more likely to suffer from undiagnosed angle-closure glaucoma, so caution is recommended when using naphazoline, always using moderate doses for no more than 3 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to the medication.
- [CLOSED ANGLE GLAUCOMA].
- Children under 3 years old.
PREGNANCY
FDA Category C. No animal studies have been conducted. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with ophthalmic naphazoline in humans. It is not known whether ophthalmic naphazoline can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women; however, potential systemic absorption should be considered. Although fetal harm is not expected with short-term use of moderate doses (no more than 3 days), this drug is only recommended if safer therapeutic alternatives are unavailable.
INDICATIONS
- Irritative conditions of the conjunctiva, [CONJUNCTIVITIS] non-bacterial.
LACTATION
It is unknown whether naphazoline is excreted in breast milk. The potential for systemic absorption of ophthalmic naphazoline should be considered, as young children are more sensitive to the pharmacological and toxic effects of sympathomimetics. Use cautiously, always using moderate doses for no more than 3 days.
RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
- Wash your hands.
- Look up. Pull down your lower eyelid to make a pouch.
- Hold the dropper as close to the sac as possible without touching the eye. To avoid contamination of the medication, it is important that the applicator tip does not come into contact with any surface (including the eye).
- Apply the prescribed amount of eye drops to the bag.
- Blink a couple of times to spread the drop over the entire surface of the eye.
- Close your eye for about two minutes (do not close it too tightly) or press the nasolacrimal edge to reduce systemic absorption.
Each single-dose bottle contains the amount needed for one application in each eye. Any remaining product in the bottle should be discarded.
If another topical ophthalmic medication is being used, this medication should be administered at least ten minutes apart. Ophthalmic ointments should be administered last.
POSOLOGY
