Aspenter, 100 mg, 28 gastro-resistant tablets, Terapia

Aspenter 100 mg works by preventing the formation of blood clots and is used for:

• reducing the risk of myocardial infarction in patients with angina pectoris or multiple risk factors
• prevention of recurrence of myocardial infarction
• prevention of stroke (transient ischemic attack and cerebral infarction)
• maintaining blood circulation in the blood vessels of the heart after certain surgical operations to dilate the coronary arteries (vascular plasty and coronary bypass).

Aspenter 100 mg should not be used for the treatment of fever or pain (regardless of their type) because it releases a small amount of acetylsalicylic acid.

Composition:

• The active substance is acetylsalicylic acid. One gastro-resistant tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.
• The other ingredients are: core - microcrystalline cellulose (type PH 112), pregelatinized starch, stearic acid, colloidal anhydrous silica
• Film - talc, copolymer of methacrylic acid with ethyl acrylate (in the form of a 30% dispersion), triethyl citrate, simethicone emulsion (in the form of a 30% aqueous dispersion), red iron oxide (E172).

Method of administration:

• Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Unstable angina pectoris, prophylaxis of myocardial infarction recurrence, after vascular surgery, prophylaxis of transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and cerebral infarction: The recommended daily dose is 100-300 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day (1-3 gastro-resistant tablets of Aspenter 100 mg per day)
• Acute myocardial infarction: The recommended daily dose is 1-3 gastro-resistant tablets of Aspenter 100 mg (equivalent to 100-300 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day)
• Prophylaxis of venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism: The recommended daily dose is one Aspenter 100 mg tablet (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid).
• Prophylaxis of coronary artery thrombosis in patients with multiple risk factors: The recommended daily dose is 1 – 2 Aspenter 100 mg tablets (equivalent to 100 – 200 mg acetylsalicylic acid) or 3 Aspenter 100 mg tablets (equivalent to 100 – 300 mg acetylsalicylic acid) at 2-day intervals.
• The tablets should be taken after meals and swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g. a glass of water).
• For the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, the first gastro-resistant tablet should be crushed or chewed
• Aspenter 100 mg is intended for long-term use. The doctor should decide on the duration of treatment.

Contraindications:

Do not use Aspenter 100 mg if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Aspenter 100 mg.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Pregnant women should not use acetylsalicylic acid during pregnancy unless recommended by a doctor.
• Therapy in recommended doses or high doses of acetylsalicylic acid during the last trimester of pregnancy may cause serious complications in the mother or child.
• Do not take Aspenter 100 mg if you are breastfeeding because small amounts of acetylsalicylic acid pass into breast milk and could affect the baby.

Driving and using machines:

• Aspenter 100 mg does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
