MeliLax is een medisch hulpmiddel (micro-oedeem) op basis van honing dat is geïndiceerd voor de behandeling van constipatie geassocieerd met urinewegproblemen, waaronder viscerale overgevoeligheid (zoals bij het prikkelbare darmsyndroom), aambeien en anale fissuren. MeliLax verlicht irritatie, ontsteking en ongemak zonder de darm te irriteren bij constipatie, omdat het een beschermende werking heeft. Het beschermt en kalmeert ook het rectale slijmvlies tijdens de stoelgang dankzij de slijmachtige eigenschappen. Het kan gebruikt worden door mensen met coeliakie omdat het glutenvrij is.
