Blephademodex

Blephademodex Thea is available as sterile wipes in packs of 30. This dispensing form facilitates quick and convenient use and is ideal for daily eyelid hygiene at home and on the move. The wipes are ready for immediate use without the need for pre-preparation.

Blephademodex wipes is indicated for:

• Daily eyelid hygiene for Demodex inflammation
• Cleansing of crusts, eyelid dandruff and dust mites, as well as removal of impurities and debris from eyelids and eyelashes
• Improvement of symptoms associated with Demodex infestation, such as eyelid irritation and inflammation

The product contains 2 active ingredients effective in improving the health of the eye area, helping to restore comfort and hygiene.

Terpinen-4-ol is a purified active extract of tea tree oil, known for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, present in Blephademodex at a concentration of 2.5%. 

Sodium hyaluronate acts as a natural soothing agent, effectively moisturizing the sensitive skin around the eyes and eyelids and facilitating skin regeneration in that area.

For Blephademodex use, the following dosage is recommended:

• Mild to moderate symptoms: use once daily, preferably in the evening, for 4 weeks.
• Moderate to severe symptoms: use twice daily, morning and evening, for 4 weeks.

The doctor may indicate the duration of treatment with Blephademodex wipes depending on the severity of symptoms and the patient's response to treatment.

Blephademodex should not be used in case of known allergy to any of the ingredients of the product. It is important to consult the product description to check the ingredients.

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should seek medical advice before use, as there is insufficient data to support the safety of the product in this patient group.

For eyelid and eyelash hygiene, use Blephademodex wipes according to the following instructions:

• Open an envelope and unfold the napkin inside
• Wrap the tissue around your index finger 
• Keep your eyes closed and gently apply the tissue to your eyelids and the base of your eyelashes
• Gently massage the eyelids with small circular movements, gently removing any crusting, eyelash dullness or secretions
• Repeat on the other eye, using a new tissue.

Contact lenses must be removed before use. Keep the eye closed for 15 seconds after use.

Blephademodex is generally well tolerated, but some minor side effects may occur, such as:

• Slight burning or discomfort in the eyelids
• Rare allergic reactions such as itching or redness

If side effects occur, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult a doctor.

To date, no significant interactions have been reported between Blephademodex and other medicines or foods. However, it is important to inform your doctor about any other products you use to avoid possible interactions or side effects.

Overdose with Blephademodex is unlikely, as the product is applied topically. However, excessive use of wipes may lead to irritation or discomfort. 

If you experience a significant adverse reaction, it is essential to discontinue use and consult a specialist.

Blephademodex should be stored in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. It is important to check the expiry date before use. Discard wipes immediately after use.
