Xailin Night Lubricating ointment for dry eyes 5 g, Visuafarma

Xailin Night is an ointment ideal for lubricating and protecting the eye in certain ocular conditions and providing long-lasting refreshing and soothing nighttime relief from dry eye sensations, such as pain, irritation or a feeling of sand. 

Indications:

Xailin Night is a multi-dose nighttime ointment ideal for providing long-lasting relief from dry eye sensations.

Composition:

White petrolatum 57.3% m/m; white mineral oil 42.5% m/m; lanolin alcohols 0.2% m/m.

How to use:

Apply a thin strip of ointment of approximately 1 cm to each eye as often as necessary, as follows

• Before opening a new pack of Xailin Night lubricating eye ointment, make sure that the safety ring on the tube cap is not broken
• Twist the cap anticlockwise to break the seal
• Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before use
• Remove the outer cap
• If you wear contact lenses, remove your lenses
• Tilt your head back and look up
• Gently pull down the lower eyelid of your eye to form a small pocket between your eyelid and your eye
• Hold the tube between your thumb and middle finger of the other hand, turn the tube upside down towards your eye and try not to touch your eye with the applicator
• Apply enough pressure to the tube to squeeze out a thin strip of ointment about 1 cm long, or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or optician
• Close and reopen your eye a couple of times
• If you have missed your eye, insert another strip of ointment
• Carefully wipe away any excess Xailin Night around your eyelid with a tissue
• Repeat the process for the other eye, if necessary necessary
• Replace the outer cap on the container, trying not to touch the applicator tip with any foreign body, including the eye or fingers
• Allow at least 30 minutes between administrations of other ophthalmic medications
• If you are unsure about using Xailin Night lubricating ophthalmic ointment, or if the discomfort persists, consult your doctor, pharmacist or optician.

Side effects:

There are no known particular side effects.

Contraindications:

• For external use
• Keep out of reach of children
• Avoid direct contact with eyes
• Do not use if the safety ring on the tube cap is broken
• Do not use if you are allergic to the product
• Do not touch the tip of the tube with your eye or any other surface
• Do not share Xailin Gel with other people
• Xailin Gel may cause a temporary sensation of slight burning and/or blurred vision after application
• Wait until your vision is clear before driving or using machinery.

Storage:

• Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging stamped on the edge of the tube
• Store between 1 and 25°C
• Do not use the contents 28 days after first opening.

Helpful tips and trivia about Xailin Night:

• Dry eye symptoms occur as a result of ocular surface disorders that can be caused by a variety of reasons, where normal tears are of poor quality or produced in too little quantity to keep the eye sufficiently moist
• Xailin Gel can be used by contact lens wearers, but it is recommended to remove the lenses before use.
