Our "laundry" nuts ripen in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India. Sapindus mukorossi trees, which bear soap nuts, usually grow in the forests there. Locals have been using their skins for washing clothes and cleansing the body since time immemorial. Indian women collect and process this little miracle of nature for us too. When soaked in water, natural saponin is secreted from the nuts, which works like soap. It is the gentlest washing method - in relation to the linen itself, the environment and our health. Soap nuts do not leave chemical residues in washed clothes (petroleum substances, phosphonates, enzymes, chlorine, optical brighteners, perfumes and synthetic dyes). The natural saponin does not irritate the skin, which is especially appreciated by those who suffer from allergies and eczema. Did you know that young children's skin is up to seven times more permeable than adult skin?

Soap nuts also do not cause discoloration of colored laundry. Washing in soap nut shells is one of the cheapest ways to wash. When washing normally soiled laundry (sweat, dust), you can do well with it. What it is used for all types of laundry, especially baby clothes and diapers, the best laundry (wool, silk) and functional textiles. Another option for processing soap nuts is to grind them into a fine powder, which is the basis of, for example, our washing powder for white laundry and cloth diapers. Soap nut powder itself has disinfectant and antifungal effects and will replace dishwashing and washing products as well as body cosmetics.

When washing colored laundry in the washing machine: Place the appropriate number of spoons (see table) in the fabric bag included in each package, tie it tightly and place it with the laundry in the washing machine drum. It is not necessary to use conditioner, soap nuts have a softening effect on textiles.

When washing white clothes in the washing machine: Soap nuts do not contain bleaching and brightening substances that are added to standard washing powders. Therefore, when washing white laundry, it is advisable to add the PUER preparation to the washing load, which serves as a bleaching and stain removal preparation.

When washing heavily soiled laundry: We recommend soaking heavily soiled laundry in a bucket of water as warm as possible (depending on the type of laundry) the night before washing, in which we dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of PUER dye powder. In the morning, we pour the water - the dirt will dissolve before washing, and the laundry can then be easily washed even in such a mild detergent as soap nuts. When washing by hand: Place the nuts in a closable container (mug) with warm water (dosage see the table above). Let it infuse overnight. When you shake the glass in the morning, you can see the saponin released foaming in the water. Pour the prepared solution into the sink with the laundry and wash. Deodorization: The soap nuts themselves have a sweet smell, but no smell from them settles on the laundry during the wash. For those of us who appreciate naturally scented laundry, we offer 100% natural plant essential oils. We use them by spraying the bag with a few drops of our favorite essential oil before putting it in the washing machine.

Duration of effectiveness of nuts: Nuts used once can be used 2-3 times, as long as the washing took place at 60˚C. Do not throw away used nuts. You can use them for compost. During longer storage, the nuts gradually dry out and darken. However, this does not eliminate the saponin contained in it, but only slightly increases the time before it starts to be released from the nuts in the water.
