What it is, how it works:

• The basis of our washing gel is soap nut extract obtained by the gentlest cold extraction method
• Thanks to the lanolin component, it keeps the wool fibers flexible even after repeated washings
• Lanolin is a substance that occurs naturally in sheep's wool and provides the thermal insulation properties and water resistance of wool.

The concentrate is a great solution for you (you don't pay for unnecessary water) and nature (less packaging material and transport fuel).

What is it used for?

• Suitable for wool textiles (sweaters, socks, children's bodysuits), functional merino wool clothing (t-shirts, tank tops, underwear)

How to use:

• Dosage for washing 4-5 kg ​​of laundry in the washing machine: 30 ml (bottle cap volume) per wash cycle (we choose the wool/hand wash program), concentrated – 1 liter is enough for up to 33 doses of WASH
• Hand wash: about ½ cap per wash load, pay attention to water temperature to prevent laundry from coagulating
• For hard water: it is best to use a water softener or increase the dosage of washing gel up to 60 ml. Water hardness can be easily determined using a test strip
• If the laundry is very dirty: let the laundry soak for a few tens of minutes before washing, treat the stains with either bile soap or olive soap with lemon extract before washing.
• Washing temperature: wool and merino are very sensitive to temperature changes, they shrink easily, the ideal washing temperature is 30 °C

WHY ARE SOAP GELS SUITABLE FOR WASHING AT 40°C? IS NOT WASHING AT LOW TEMPERATURE MORE ECOLOGICAL?

• Washing in cold water requires a lot more chemistry (or mechanical work), while saving only a few tens of pennies on heating the water. Missing temperature steps must be replaced in another way for a satisfactory result. Washing clothes at a low temperature, especially 30 °C and below, means that the dirt is not dissolved by the heat and it is necessary to break it down chemically. Body fat in particular does not dissolve in cold water, because the body temperature is 37 °C. It is therefore recommended to wash at a minimum of 40 °C.

HOW SHOULD I WASH CLOTHES THAT ARE LABELED TO BE WASHED BELOW 40°C?

• The material from which the garment is made is either natural (cotton, linen, wool, silk) or synthetic, mixtures being also common. Synthetics and blends are usually washed at 40°C (or as recommended by the manufacturer). Cotton and linen can be washed at higher temperatures. It is advisable to wash wool and silk separately and use the mildest possible detergents such as soap nuts or ground olive soap for washing.

WILL SOAPNUT GEL DETERMINE THE COLOR OF LINEN?

• Soapnut washing gels are very gentle on colors because they do not contain bleaching ingredients. An even milder variant, suitable especially for delicate laundry, are Soap Nuts.

WHY DO YOU USE SODIUM BENZOATE IN YOUR GELS?

• Benzoate is a substance found naturally in plants, of course we use synthetic products. We definitely recommend avoiding it in food. However, there is no health risk in our working gel. We use sodium benzoate to preserve the soap nut extract, which would start to ferment without it. By the way - this substance is also an approved preservative for biocosmetics intended for application to the skin. If you want to wash as naturally as possible, we recommend using soap nuts.

5-15% nonionic surfactant of vegetable origin, lanolin, soap nut extract; < 5% chelating agent (EDDS), denatured alcohol, sodium benzoate, xanthan gum
