Folate Quatrefolic ® 400 µg Swanson ® - properties
The content of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate in one capsule of Quatrefolic® gives the equivalent of 1.6 mg of glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid.
Folate helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. They also help in the proper synthesis of amino acids, while playing a role in proper blood production. They also participate in the process of cell division. Folic acid also supports the proper functioning of the immune system.
The use of folic acid supplements increases the concentration of folate in the mother's body. Low levels of maternal folic acid are a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. The beneficial effect occurs with an additional daily intake of 400 μg of folic acid at least one month before and at most three months after conception. In addition, folates contribute to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy.
