Piroxicam gel, 10 mg/g, 50 g, Fiterman

Indications:
It is indicated for adults and children over 15 years of age in the local symptomatic treatment of:
- inflammatory extra-articular conditions (muscle pain, inflammation of the tendons and synovial sheaths that surround the tendons, back pain without compression of the spinal cord);
- inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases, as well as tissue inflammations in the vicinity of the shoulder joint.

Active substance:
The active substance is piroxicam. One gram of gel contains 10 mg of piroxicam.
The other components are: carbomer 980, trolamine, diethanolamine, ethyl alcohol 96%, disodium edetate, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E218), n-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E216), purified water.

Way of ussage:
Piroxicam Fiterman 10 mg/g gel can also be used in the symptomatic treatment of traumatic musculoskeletal conditions (strains, contusions, sprains, dislocations).
Adults and children over 15 years of age: Piroxicam Fiterman 10 mg/g gel is administered 3-4 times a day on the affected area. The dose administered at each application varies depending on the surface of the affected area, being approximately 0.5 - 1 g of gel (approximately 3 - 4 cm).
In order to absorb the gel, a light and prolonged massage is performed on the painful and/or inflamed area.
After each application, hands are washed thoroughly.
Children under 15 years of age: The safety and efficacy of Piroxicam Fiterman 10 mg/g gel in children under 15 years of age have not yet been established. No data available.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to piroxicam, to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or to any of the excipients.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility: Reproduction studies with oral piroxicam in animals have shown no effects on fertility. Although no teratogenic effects were observed in the case of oral administration of piroxicam in animal tests, in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, the use of piroxicam, like other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, should be done with caution and only after evaluating the risk ratio fetal potential/maternal therapeutic benefit.
In the last trimester of pregnancy, piroxicam is contraindicated.
Since it is not known whether topically applied piroxicam is excreted in human milk, administration of Piroxicam gel to women who are breast-feeding is not recommended.
