Description
Pantoprazole Teva is a medicine classified as a proton pump inhibitor. The active substance contained in the drug - pantoprazole blocks the "pump" that produces gastric acid and thus reduces the amount of acid in the stomach. It is used in adults for the short-term treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, including heartburn and acid regurgitation.
Reflux is the reflux of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation of the esophagus and pain. At the same time, there may be a painful burning sensation in the chest that reaches the throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid belching). Pantoprazole Teva may relieve the symptoms of reflux disease and heartburn after the first day of use, but the medicine does not provide immediate relief. You may need to take the tablets for 2 to 3 days in a row for complete relief of symptoms.
