MamaDHA Premium+ is a food supplement in the form of capsules designed to supplement the daily diet of women planning a child, being pregnant and breastfeeding. The formula of the preparation contains fish oil, which is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, i.e. docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). The composition is additionally enriched with a high content of vitamin D, iodine and folic acid.

Properties of the ingredients of the food supplement MamaDHA Premium+

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) consumed by a woman during pregnancy and lactation contributes to the proper development of the brain and eyes of the fetus and breastfed infants (the beneficial effect occurs when consuming 200 mg of DHA per day above the recommended daily intake of omega- 3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)). At the same time, DHA contributes to the maintenance of good brain function and correct vision (the beneficial effect is obtained when consuming 250 mg of DHA per day). In addition, DHA and EPA acids contribute to the proper functioning of the heart (the beneficial effect occurs with a total intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA per day).

Folate contributes to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy. At the same time, it helps in the proper production of blood, and in combination with vitamin D, it provides valuable support for maintaining the good functioning of the immune system and helps to reduce the feeling of tiredness and fatigue. MamaDHA Premium+ uses two folate sources: pteroylmonoglutamic acid and calcium L-methylfolate. Methylated folic acid is considered the active form of folic acid because, after oral administration, it does not require additional metabolic changes to have health-promoting effects.

Vitamin D plays a role in the proper absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus. It helps maintain healthy bones in the mother and is also required for proper bone growth and development in the baby. It also supports the proper functioning of the muscles and the immune system.
