How does Lefax® intensive work?

High dosage combined with excellent tolerability: That's what Lefax® intens offers with 250 milligrams of the active ingredient simethicone per single dose. Simethicone acts as an antifoaming agent and foam inhibitor purely physically and is not absorbed by the body. Instead, it exerts its effect locally in the gastrointestinal tract, breaking down the gas and foam bubbles that cause the discomfort. The released gas is then simply excreted by the body.

Its applications include the relief and treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints such as bloating (meteorism), a feeling of fullness, cramping abdominal pain, or belching. It is also used to prepare for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal region, for example, before an X-ray or endoscopy.
