Description
Hasco bismuth alkali gallate is a monocomponent drug classified as a scar preparation. The active substance of the drug, commonly called dermatol, is a trivalent bismuth salt in the form of a yellow powder.
Dermatol, like other bismuth salts, has adsorbent, astringent, drying, slightly antibacterial and slightly exfoliating properties. The antibacterial effect of dermatol is due to its denaturing effect on structural and enzymatic proteins. This leads to the formation of an insoluble protective layer on the surface of the wound. In addition, due to the contraction of vessels in the denatured layer, tissue congestion during inflammation is reduced, and it is also possible to stop minor bleeding.
Hasco Alkaline Bismuth Gallate is intended for topical use on the skin. Indications for the use of the drug include minor bleeding (the preparation allows to stop it), inflammation of the skin (disinfectant effect), running wounds, ulcers and abrasions of the epidermis.
