Taken daily for the entire duration of pregnancy, it provides essential nutrients to contribute to a normal pregnancy and the normal development of the newborn.

^Gynéfam® supra GROSSESSE ORO contains:

• Vitamins B9 (or folic acid or folates) in the form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate ( ^{Quatrefolic®} ), an active form of folate: Folates contribute to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy and play a role in the process of cell division. Folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate status. A low maternal folate level increases the risk of neural tube defects in the developing fetus.
• Vitamin B12 : contributes to normal energy metabolism. Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and plays a role in the process of cell division.
• Vitamin D : supplied only partly by food (cod liver oil, eggs, butter and oily fish are essential). It is mainly synthesized in the skin through optimal exposure to sunlight. Vitamin D deficiency is therefore common. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus and to the maintenance of normal bone structure.
• Iron : contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin and helps reduce tiredness.
• Iodine : contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function.
