DicoSTOP is a medical device intended for the treatment of diarrhea and acute and chronic pain related to gastrointestinal diseases. DicoSTOP is a single-use liquid preparation for use in children and adults.
Diosmectite is a natural clay with a structure of thin overlapping crystalline plates. It has a high capacity to bind the fluids present in the intestines together with bacteria and viruses. The diosmectite contained in the composition combines with the glycoproteins of the mucous layer that covers the wall of the digestive tube and changes its physical characteristics, creating an absorbent gel whose task is to protect against excessive acid secretion and substances that irritate the stomach. It also constitutes a protective barrier against inflammatory mechanisms. It thickens the consistency of the stool and slows down its excretion.
