Description
Citrolin mouthwash, 120 ml, Pharco
Properties:
Therapeutic indications:
CITROLIN is a medicinal combination with antiseptic/anesthetic properties used as a mouthwash, in the following conditions:
- Ulcerative lesions of the oral cavity;
- Gingivitis, stomatitis;
- Mechanical irritation of the oral mucosa, determined by dental prostheses or other orthodontic devices;
- Dental pains, (including those caused by caries or tooth extractions);
- Pharyngitis and tonsillitis: to relieve pharyngeal pain, as an antiseptic and to remove bad breath.
Composition:
100 ml contain:
Cetrimide 25 mg
Lidocaine hydrochloride 3 mg
Excipients: anhydrous citric acid, sodium hydrogen phosphate, simethicone, riboflavin, methylene blue, propylene glycol, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium benzoate, purified water.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: products for the oral cavity, other preparations for local oral treatment, combinations.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to cetrimide, lidocaine or any of the product's excipients.
- Children under 6 years old.
Precautions:
If CITROLIN comes into contact with the eyes or ears, it must be removed urgently with large amounts of water. Due to the local anesthetic effect, the risk of biting the lips, cheeks, mucous membranes or tongue must be taken into account. The product can test positive for anti-doping tests.
Interactions:
Since cetrimide is absorbed in a small proportion, it is very unlikely that CITROLIN, as an antiseptic, will influence the action of other orally administered drugs. In the same way, it is unlikely that other drugs administered orally will influence the activity of cetrimide. The amount of lidocaine in CITROLIN is too small to determine any clinically significant interaction with other orally administered drugs. However, simultaneous administration with ethyl alcohol or with drugs that contain ethyl alcohol or that cause an anti-alcohol effect with ethyl alcohol is not recommended.
Doses and method of administration:
Like other antiseptics/anesthetics, CITROLIN is used directly, without dilution, 15 ml (one spoonful) of mouthwash, three times a day or as needed.
Side effects:
Long-term experience has shown a very low incidence of adverse reactions associated with the topical use of cetrimide. At the recommended concentrations, cetrimide is very well tolerated, but occasionally, irritating skin reactions may occur. Also, after repeated administrations, rarely, hypersensitivity reactions have been reported. When administered at the recommended doses, lidocaine hydrochloride is very well tolerated and does not cause allergic reactions.
