ACC Junior syrup, 100 ml, Sandoz

Indications:
ACC Junior liquefies viscous mucus in cases of upper respiratory tract diseases: laryngitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, otitis media.
ACC Junior facilitates coughing and expectoration of secretions in acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by disorders in the formation and transport of mucus: acute bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, exacerbations of chronic broncho-pneumopathy, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, bronchial asthma.

Composition/100g syrup:
- The active substance is acetylcysteine. One measuring spoon (5 ml oral solution) contains acetylcysteine ​​100 mg.
- The other ingredients are: methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 216), sorbitol (E 420), sodium citrate dihydrate, orange flavour 290038.

Method of administration:
- Children under 2 years of age: administer ACC Junior to children under 2 years of age only on the recommendation of a doctor, as there is insufficient experience with the administration of acetylcysteine ​​in this age group.
- Children aged 2 to 6 years 5 ml: (1 measuring spoon) 2-3 times a day (equivalent to 200-300 mg acetylcysteine)
- Children and adolescents aged 6-14 years: 5 ml (1 measuring spoon) 3-4 times a day (equivalent to 300-400 mg acetylcysteine)
- Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age: 10 ml (2 measuring spoons) 2-3 times a day (equivalent to 400-600 mg acetylcysteine)
The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. Treatment should be carried out for at least one week, even in the case of mild inflammation of the respiratory tract.
It is recommended that treatment be continued for 2-3 days after the symptoms have disappeared. It is recommended not to exceed the recommended daily dose.

Contraindications:
Do not use ACC Junior
- if you are allergic to acetylcysteine ​​or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you have an active peptic ulcer;
- in children under 2 years of age.

Precautions:
Caution is advised if acetylcysteine ​​is used in bronchial asthma or in patients with a history of ulcers.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Task:
There are no adequate data from the use of acetylcysteine ​​in pregnant women. Experimental animal studies do not suggest direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to pregnancy, embryonal/fetal development, parturition or postnatal development. Acetylcysteine ​​should be used during pregnancy only after careful benefit-risk assessment.
Breastfeeding:
No information is available regarding excretion in breast milk. Acetylcysteine ​​should be used during breastfeeding only after a strict benefit-risk assessment.

Driving and using machines:
There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.
