Acacia flower tea contributes to the normal functioning of the stomach and supports the health of the lungs.
Acacia tea – Composition:
the flowers of the tree Robinia Pseudacacia L., fam. Fabaceae, contain flavonoids (robinin, acaciain), volatile oil, tannins, caffeic and chlorogenic acid, carbohydrates.
Main uses: hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer. Other uses: cough.
It is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to this plant. There are no known contraindications at the recommended doses.
Acacia flower tea - Method of preparation:
pour 200 ml of boiling water over a teaspoon of the plant and leave covered for 10-15 minutes, then strain.
Administration method:
Drink 2-3 cups of tea a day, before the main meals.
Acacia (Robinia pseudacacia) - benefits and properties:
Acacia is a plant cultivated as an ornamental plant on the side of the roads, in parks, for fixing sand dunes, as well as as a honey plant by beekeepers.
In popular tradition, its hard wood was used to make tools and various household items, and the flowers were used to dye cotton and silk yellow.
The flowers, leaves (rarely) and bark are used for therapeutic purposes.
Acacia flowers contain volatile oils, robinin, flavones, acacin - a flavonic glycoside, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids and the bark contains phytotoxins, toxalbumins (robina and phazine), silingin glycoside, pyrocatechinic tannins, mucilages, resins, bitter principles and minerals.
Acacia flowers, in the form of infusion or decoction, are recommended for expectorant cough, rheumatic pain, dental neuralgia, stomach pain, hyperacidity, reflux esophagitis, kidney disease, migraines, heartburn, insomnia, gastroduodenal ulcer, bronchitis, leucorrhoea, anemia , laryngitis, flu or abdominal colic.
Oak bark, in the form of infusion or decoction, is recommended in cases of biliary dyspeptic syndrome, and the leaves in bronchitis, laryngitis and constipation.
In external use, compresses, local baths or gargle with infusion of acacia flowers have beneficial effects in burns, wounds, skin ulcers and dental neuralgia.
Consumption especially of the bark, seeds and root, in any form, without a doctor's advice can cause abdominal colic, diarrhea, apathy, vomiting, dehydration and circulatory disorders. The flowers have no adverse effects.
