VENOSTASIN CREAM 2X100 g
Description
Venostasin® Cream
Horse chestnut seed extract nourishes and strengthens tired legs in cases of venous insufficiency.
Whether after prolonged sitting, in summer, or while traveling : those suffering from acute pain or even water retention (edema) need quick relief, especially when their legs feel heavy or tired. Topical medications can be very helpful in these situations. This is particularly true if a venous disorder is already present or has been diagnosed.
With the help of horse chestnut seed dry extract, Venostasin® cream provides relief from the symptoms of venous insufficiency, such as tired legs. The gentle massage effect during application provides additional relief for swollen and heavy legs.
For patients with sensitive and cracked skin, Venostasin® Cream is the right choice; it provides additional care and keeps the skin elastic and supple. This is particularly beneficial when those affected wear compression stockings due to venous insufficiency.

Symptoms & causes of venous insufficiency
Advanced age, lack of exercise and being overweight , along with a genetic predisposition for connective tissue weakness, are the primary risk factors for venous insufficiency .
In its early stages, venous insufficiency manifests not only through symptoms like varicose veins and spider veins, but also through seemingly harmless complaints such as heavy and tired legs . Furthermore, venous insufficiency is often treated with compression stockings . While these alleviate the symptoms, they also frequently lead to dry skin .
Regular leg massage with Venostasin® vein cream therefore provides double support: it relieves symptoms such as heaviness and fatigue in the legs, while simultaneously protecting the skin on the legs from drying out and providing moisture without staining skin or stockings.
Horse chestnut is also used in medications for the systemic (internal) treatment of the symptoms of venous insufficiency , as the dry extract of horse chestnut seeds has been shown to reduce inflammation and thus inhibit the activity of so-called lysosomal enzymes. This strengthens the vein walls and alleviates symptoms such as edema and leg cramps, which often accompany venous insufficiency. However, this only applies when the active ingredient is taken orally. Therefore, the combination of Venostasin® cream and Venostasin® retard capsules is an ideal duo for revitalizing tired legs and relieving pain, edema , and leg cramps.
What exactly is venous insufficiency?
At the onset of venous insufficiency, seemingly harmless symptoms such as feelings of tension and heaviness or slight swelling of the legs appear, especially after long days at the office or while traveling. Prolonged periods in the same position are particularly conducive to venous disorders. The so-called venous pump , which pumps deoxygenated blood against gravity through the leg veins back to the heart and lungs, is only sufficiently activated when walking . The venous pump is supported by the venous valves, which act like a kind of one-way valve, preventing blood from pooling back up into the legs and feet.
If we don't move enough , this interplay doesn't function optimally. Blood collects and pools in the leg veins. Over time, this stretches them, making them visible on the surface as spider veins and varicose veins, because the pooled blood increases the pressure on the vein walls. Besides lack of exercise , advanced age, being overweight, and genetic predisposition also increase this risk .
But that's not all . The breakdown products contained in the oxygen-depleted blood can lead to further problems if they penetrate the stretched vein wall and enter the surrounding tissue. There, they become "water retention in the legs," or edema. In the long term, complications such as skin changes, phlebitis, and venous thrombosis can even occur.
Long before that, however, symptoms such as tired and heavy legs become noticeable . And while spider veins and varicose veins are often dismissed as a purely cosmetic problem, many people also consider rapid exhaustion or a feeling of tension and/or heaviness in the legs to be normal after long, strenuous days.
However, there's more to it than that . While heavy legs after prolonged sitting and standing are indeed normal, and swelling can also occur, these symptoms usually subside quickly if you elevate your legs or go for a walk. But if this isn't the case, and swelling and heaviness persist even after walks and a restful night, then a venous disorder has already developed.
Due to persistent lack of exercise, the venous pump loses strength, and the dilated veins further prevent the venous valves, located on the inner wall of the vein, from closing properly because the vein diameter has increased. At this point, even with sufficient exercise, more and more blood accumulates in the legs and feet, and venous insufficiency develops.
