Description
The active ingredient (which provides the effect of the medicine) is ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers.
The medicine is used in children aged 7 to 12 years with a body weight of 20-40 kg:
- For the relief of mild to moderate pain such as sore throat, toothache, earache, headache, pain from minor injuries or sprains, and to relieve symptoms of flu and colds.
- To reduce high temperature (fever).
Use
Dosage and dosing schedules
- In children, ibuprofen is dosed depending on body weight. A single dose is usually 5 to 10 mg/kg body weight, the maximum daily dose is 20 - 30 mg/kg body weight.
- Recommended dose:
- Child weighing 20-29 kg (7-9 years): single dose: 2 capsules, maximum daily dose: 6 capsules
- Child weighing 30-40 kg (10-12 years): single dose: 3 capsules, maximum daily dose: 9 capsules
Individual doses should be administered approximately every 6 to 8 hours (or at least 6 hours between doses) as needed. Duration of treatment: The medicine is intended for short-term use. If it is necessary to give this medicine to a child for more than 3 days or if the symptoms of the disease worsen, a doctor should be consulted.
How to use
The capsules are chewed and then swallowed. It is not necessary to take them with liquid.
Warning:
- The drug should be administered in the lowest effective dose and for the shortest time necessary to suppress the symptoms of the disease.
- The drug is contraindicated during the last trimester of pregnancy. During the first 6 months of pregnancy, it is recommended to avoid taking this drug unless otherwise advised by the doctor.
- Breastfeeding does not need to be interrupted if the medicine is used for a short period of time at the recommended dose.
- The medicine is not intended for children under 7 years of age or weighing less than 20 kg.
- Dehydrated children are at risk of kidney dysfunction
- The drug should not be administered to patients with severe heart, kidney and liver failure.
- Alcohol should not be consumed while taking the medicine.
- The capsule contains glucose, sucrose and soya lecithin.
