Description
Methylene blue 1% , (Ph. Eur.), 100 ml, Chemworld
Methylene blue (C₁₆H₁₈ClN₃S) is an organic chemical compound belonging to the group of phenothiazine dyes.
It is widely used in chemistry, biology and medicine.
In the production process, pharmaceutical grade methylene blue was used - Ph. Eur.
Blue bottle 100 ml with glass pipette.
Compliance with the requirements (Ph. Eur.) proves that our methylene blue is produced and tested according to the highest standards, free from harmful contaminants, tested for the content of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
Chemical formula and structure:
- Overall formula: C₁₆H₁₈ClN₃S
- Molar mass: 319.85 g/mol
- The structure contains a phenothiazine system with amine substituents and a chloride ion.
Indications:
- Redox indicator – used e.g. in chemical analysis and biological tests
- Biological dye – used in microscopy for staining preparations
- Application in aquariums – used for staining water
- Fluorescence, exhibits fluorescent properties under certain conditions.
Benefits:
- Professional pipette - pipette
- Pharmaceutical purity grade Ph.Eur.
- Product tested in a professional Polish laboratory
- Correct solution recipe
- Content of methylene blue confirmed in the laboratory
- Tested for heavy metals.
Ingredients:
- Distilled water, methylene blue (Ph. Eur.)
- 1 drop = 0.5 mg (methylene blue)
- 1 ml = 20 drops (10 mg methylene blue).
Is our formula correct and do customers receive an accurate 1% methylene blue solution?
- In addition, we have checked it in a Polish laboratory, the test showed that our methylene blue solution is not less than 1% and even a little more. This guarantees the declared strength
- ChemWorld methylene blue is an ultrapure form of Ph.Eur. pharmaceutical grade. Despite the tests provided by our raw material suppliers, we double-check these tests in a Polish laboratory. We always do this to ensure that we deliver a contamination-free product to our customers
- We have knowledge and skills in chemistry, we love what we do and we approach each product with great respect and seriousness of the task
- Methylene blue is a very specific substance, we know how to handle it and we know how to create solutions, our calculations and procedures are confirmed by research
- Compliance with the requirements (Ph. Eur.) proves that our methylene blue is produced and tested to the highest standards, free from harmful contaminants, tested for heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
Solubility:
- Freely soluble in water and alcohols, it forms an intense blue solution.
pH dependence:
- Its color changes depending on the environment – in acidic solutions it takes on a cationic form (more intense blue), and in alkaline solutions it can be reduced to a colorless leukoid derivative.
Reduction and oxidation:
- It can be reduced to methylene blue, which is colorless, but in contact with oxygen it reoxidizes to methylene blue
- It acts as an electron acceptor and donor, which is why it is used as a redox indicator.
Reactivity:
- In a reducing environment it can be converted to methylene blue, which is used in chemical reactions and biological research
- It can react with various biological substances, e.g. proteins and nucleic acids, which makes it useful in microscopy and molecular biology
- It is relatively stable, but in the presence of strong oxidizing or reducing agents it can degrade.
Precautions:
- If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, rinse mouth with water
- Seek immediate medical attention
- In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult an ophthalmologist immediately
- In case of contact with skin, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with water
- Immediately immerse contaminated clothing in water and rinse thoroughly.
Storage:
Store in a dry, dark and cool place, out of reach of small children.
