Description
The electrolytes recommended by Stoperan are medical foods for the dietary management of diarrhea, which can be accompanied by dehydration. The preparation can be used in children from 3 years and adults, including pregnant and lactating women and the elderly. It comes in the form of a powder that can be dissolved in water and has a pleasant strawberry flavor. The composition of the product is in accordance with the WHO (World Health Organization) recommendation for use in diarrhea. After preparation, the ready-to-drink liquid has a reduced osmolarity of 245 mOsm/l.
Using the preparation during diarrhea not only replenishes electrolyte losses and prevents dehydration, but can also reduce the intensity of the symptom itself. Increases the amount of water that passes into the tissues. Contains carefully selected proportions of mineral salts and glucose. When dissolved in water, minerals break down into ions with a positive or negative electrical charge and penetrate through the intestinal cells into adjacent tissues, where they "attract" water using electrical charges and "suck" it from the intestine into the tissues. Moreover, due to the glucose present in the composition, electrolytes are more easily captured and transported to the tissues more efficiently.
