Kelo-cote

The Kelo Cote range has been developed to meet a variety of clinical needs, depending on the size, location and type of scar:

• Kelo Cote Gel 6 g – recommended for scars up to 7.5 cm in length.
• Kelo Cote Gel 15 g – suitable for scars between 7.5 and 10 cm.
• Kelo Cote Gel 60 g – intended for extensive scars or long-term treatment.
• Kelo Cote UV – offers additional protection against UV rays for recent scars, particularly recommended for areas exposed to the sun.

Kelo Cote is indicated for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids up to 4 years old, resulting from:

• surgical procedures (including cosmetic surgery),
• Caesarean sections,
• skin trauma,
• burns,
• dermatological procedures,
• severe post-acne scars,
• scars in children.

It is suitable for both recent scars, as soon as the wound has completely healed or the stitches have been removed, and for old scars, helping to soften, flatten, reduce redness and alleviate discomfort.

For best results, we recommend following this regimen:

• Cleaning the area: the skin must be completely clean and dry before application.
• Application of the gel: apply a very thin layer of Kelo Cote along the entire length of the scar, twice a day, without massaging.
• Drying: the product dries in 4–5 minutes; if it does not dry, remove any excess.
• Use under make-up: once completely dry, make-up, moisturisers or sun cream may be applied.

Kelo Cote is considered a safe and well-tolerated treatment, but there are some restrictions:

• Do not apply to open, bleeding or infected wounds.
• Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to silicones or any of the ingredients.
• UV formulas are not recommended for children under 3 months of age.

Application to mucous membranes or near the eyes is not recommended.

The product is suitable for sensitive skin (non-UV formulas), adults and children.

It can be used as soon as the wound has closed, thus providing an effective early treatment for the prevention of pathological scarring.

Kelo Cote is waterproof, allowing treatment to continue in sweaty or damp conditions without losing effectiveness.

Adverse reactions are rare and, when they do occur, are usually mild:

• a temporary sensation of dry skin,
• mild itching,
• mild irritation or erythema, particularly in people with very sensitive skin.

In most cases, these symptoms resolve spontaneously. If symptoms persist, stop treatment and consult a specialist.

No significant interactions with other medicines have been reported, as the product acts locally without systemic absorption. 

However, in the case of laser treatments, chemical peels or microneedling, application should only be carried out on the recommendation of a dermatologist, after complete epithelialisation.

Overdose is unlikely given the product’s topical mechanism of action. Applying an excessive amount does not accelerate healing, but delays the gel’s drying and may cause local discomfort. In the event of accidental ingestion, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Store at room temperature, away from excessive heat, to preserve efficacy. Keep the tube tightly closed. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

 Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
