Systane

The Systane range includes various forms of presentation, tailored to different clinical needs and user preferences: eye drops, ophthalmic gel, and moist wipes.

For example, Systane Ultra preservative-free lubricating eye drops are available in 10 ml bottles and are designed to provide rapid relief from eye discomfort, with easy application and prolonged action. 

Other eye drop formulations: Systane Complete, Systane Hydration, Systane Balance.

Systane products are indicated for the relief of ocular symptoms caused by dry eyes, regardless of the aetiology. These include eye discomfort, a burning sensation, irritation, stinging, a feeling of grit in the eyes or a foreign body sensation.

Systane is particularly suitable for people exposed to external factors such as dust, smoke, wind, dry heat, air conditioning, UV rays or cosmetics, as well as for those who use electronic devices intensively, situations in which the frequency of blinking is reduced. 

Systane Ultra and Systane Gel Drops eye drops can be used several times a day, as needed, instilling one or two drops into each eye.

Systane Ultra single-dose can be used as often as needed throughout the day. To use Systane single-dose, twist the tip of the single-dose bottle, instil the drops into the eye and blink gently to distribute the solution evenly, then discard the bottle after use.

Systane pre-moistened wipes are used daily for the gentle cleansing of the eyelids and eyelashes and are suitable for use at home or when travelling.

Systane eye drops are contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formula.

In the event of unusual or persistent reactions, discontinue use and consult an ophthalmologist.

Systane artificial tears can be used safely over the long term, even by people with sensitive eyes, thanks to their preservative-free or enhanced-tolerance formulations. 

Systane wipes are hypoallergenic, sterile and individually packaged, offering a high level of safety and eye hygiene, even when travelling.

In general, Systane products are well tolerated. Transient local reactions may rarely occur, such as a slight burning sensation immediately after instillation, temporary blurred vision or mild eye discomfort. These symptoms are usually short-lived.

There are no known significant interactions between Systane products and other medicines or food. 

If used concurrently with other eye drops, it is recommended to wait a few minutes between applications to avoid dilution of the solutions.

Overdose with Systane products is unlikely, given the local mode of administration. In the event of excessive use, only minor local reactions may occur, without systemic consequences. If persistent symptoms appear, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Systane products should be stored at room temperature, protected from direct light and frost. Single-dose bottles should be used immediately after opening and discarded after use. Pre-moistened wipes should be kept in their original packaging to maintain sterility.
